Synchronization enables the local HostedSuite server that is on premise to mirror all of the data on the primary database.

This enables redundancy in the event that Internet connectivity is lost and also improves performance of the operator console.

Servers are configured on the main web site under More > Sync

Typically, each customer will have a single remote server corresponding to the PC at the local center where the HostedSuite server software is installed.

In some cases, a customer may have multiple servers. This is the case in large deployments with multiple locations. There may be servers installed at multiple CoLos or at each physical center.

Regardless of deployment, a Remote Server must be created for each PC where the HostedSuite server software is installed.

Learn more about servers

Before you can configure the HostedSuite server software for Synchronization, you must create a new Center and a new Remote Server on the web page.

New Center

Create a new center under Organization > Centers and name the center something relevant, e.g. "Philadelphia"

NOTE: For testing purposes, you will also want to associate the Administrator with this center, so click on Users > Administrators and modify the user to be associated with this center.

New Remote Server

Create a new Remote Server under More > Sync

The fields for the Remote Server are described below

Name Description
Name The name of the remote server
IP Address The Local IP Address of the PC where the HostedSuite software will be installed. This is the IP address that workstations within the center would ping. This is NOT a public IP address.
Time Zone The geographic time zone where the server computer is located.
Password/Confirm Password The password that is required for synchronization with the HostedSuite Server software.

Local Server

Once you have created a new Remote Server on the site, you can now configure the local server software.

Login to the server software (http://ip-of-server:21483) and click on More > Sync

You must specify the following fields

Name Description
Customer Your Customer Name
Server Name The name of the remote server you created in the step above.
Server Password The password you set for the remote server in the step above

Once you have entered those settings, click Save.

If all of your settings are correct, you will receive a success message.
